Smooth Like Straight to Stand 2024 the Breeding Season at War Horse Place

Grade 1 winner, Smooth Like Strait, will stand the 2024 breeding season at War Horse Place in Lexington, Kentucky, the farm announced today.  Smooth Like Strait retires with 7 wins from 26 career starts through 4 years of continuous racing, with earnings of $1,813,863.  He won from 5 1/2 furlongs to 1 1/8 mile. 

Bred and raced by Cannon Thoroughbreds, LLC., Smooth Like Strait won the Shoemaker Mile S. (G1) before finishing a close second in the Fan Duel Breeders’ Cup Mile Presented by PDJF (G1).   The Michael McCarthy-trained horse won or placed in 15 graded stakes, including 8 Grade 1 races from the age of 2 to 5, and retired sound.   Smooth Like Strait will stand for a stud fee of $3,500 live foal stands and nurses.
